The U.S. Department of Justice said Thomas was sentenced on Friday after pleading guilty on April 2, 2026, to producing and possessing CSAM.
Prosecutors said that in 2020, while living in Virginia, Thomas used a hacked Snapchat account to coerce nearly 41 girls between the ages of 12 and 17 into engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
He reportedly recorded and stored videos of the abuse on his Snapchat account while pressuring the minors to create explicit content and participate in sexual acts during video calls.
Thomas also allegedly claimed to lead a criminal organisation and threatened to hack the girls’ accounts if they refused to comply with his demands.
Fairfax County Police arrested him in October 2020. During the investigation, officers found another phone containing dozens of CSAM images and videos at his residence in Woodbridge.
He was also charged with rape and sodomy involving two minors.
According to the DOJ, Thomas was aware that some of the victims had anxiety, depression and other mental health challenges, while several had previously experienced sexual abuse. In one case, he allegedly knew that a victim was in foster care.
The FBI Washington Field Office investigated the case, while federal prosecutors Alicia A. Bove and Lauren Halper handled the prosecution.
